About the Rattery

All our rats live in the house in a room downstairs. They live in same sex groups in a variety of cages, and also come out regularly to be handled and to play and explore. They enjoy hammocks, tubes, branches and lots of toys in their cages. They also seem to have a taste for curtains so watch out!

The room is well ventilated and has an air purifier/ ionoser to keep it fresh. There is a fan and a heater available, should they be needed, in extreme weathers.

The rats are well socialised and are often visited by our cats and dog. They are also used to all the usual household noises eg TV, music, vacuum cleaner, plus the sound of drums, electric guitar and bass guitar being played and assorted other noises made by teenagers! They are used to be handled by children as well as adults. All in all they should be ready for pretty much anything they will meet in their new homes.
